New smoking laws come into effect

The State Government introduced new smoke-free area laws which came into effect on Tuesday.

Smoking at all outdoor dining areas is now banned when food is available for consumption, to protect the community from exposure to second-hand tobacco smoke.

The MMA is currently reviewing all existing external smoking areas to determine whether they’re eligible and further communication will be provided once the review is completed.

Florists needed for short film

Victorian College of the Arts (VCA) Director Beth Roland is directing a short student film called Amber Flush and requires support from florists, wholesalers and nurseries for a pop up florist featured in the movie.

‘Fetchers Florist’ will be assembled in September and the VCA requires donations of fresh and wilting flowers.

In exchange for these resources, you will be credited in the short film which will be screened at the Australian Centre for the Moving Imagery (ACMI).
