Changes to the Melbourne Market Authority Board of Directors. 

Today, we farewell Stephen McArthur, Russell Cooper and Bill Lewis as they complete their three year term as members of the Melbourne Market Authority Board.

On 23 December, the Acting Minister for Agriculture, the Honourable Jacinta Allan, announced the following new Board appointments for the Melbourne Market Authority:

  • Peter Tuohey, MMA Chairman
  • Robyn Stewart, Board member
  • Jacinta Carboon, Board member

Foodbank need your help!

Foodbank have resumed their collections from the Market this week however last week they received several donations of rotten produce.

Produce donated to Foodbank must be fit for human consumption, that means, no moldy or rotting produce can be left at the collection point.

Please note, any produce left at the Foodbank collection point that is not fit for human consumption will be considered rubbish dumping and the offender will incur an infringement of $200 plus an additional $50 if the dumped produce is on a pallet.

Organic product that is fit for human consumption can continue to be donated to Foodbank next to Store 148 Monday to Friday from 6.30 am until 9.00 am and is tax deductible at the Market price of the produce.

Australia Day public holiday

Save the Date: Chinese New Year 2017

Image result for chinese new year 2017 rooster2017 is the year of the Fire Rooster, and while Chinese New Year falls on Saturday 28 January, the Market will be celebrating with a traditional lion dance touring the Market on Tuesday 31 January from 5:00am.
