Parking privileges are required for anyone who wishes to park a vehicle of any type in the market prior to, or during market trading hours. In order to purchase parking privileges, you must have a current Melbourne Markets Access Card.
Parking at the Melbourne Markets can be obtained by following these steps:
- Visit the MMA Customer Centre between 4.00am – 11.30am Monday – Friday.
- Complete a Parking Privileges Application Form (not required for casual parking)
- Pay the appropriate fee for the type of parking privileges required at the Customer Service Centre.
- Quote your Access Card number to enable your card details to be updated.
The types of parking privileges available at the markets are:
Unreserved parking is available for vehicles from motor-cycles to trucks of up to 8m in length. Vehicles with Unreserved parking privileges may park in areas other than those marked ‘reserved’ or with a yellow flower (National Flower Centre parking). The fees for Unreserved parking are shown in the Schedule of Fees.
Reserved parking is available for cars, trucks and semi-trailer / B double combinations. Reserved parking under cover is also available. The fees for Reserved parking are shown in the Schedule of Fees.
Casual Daily Parking
Casual daily parking outside the market main concourse is available in the Employee Car park at Gate 8 which is adjacent to Gate 6, and Gate 7 near the MMA conference centre. Parking fee is $6 per day. Within the market concourse, casual parking is available for a fee of $17.00 per day. Parking is permitted in any unreserved parking bay.
Country Transport Parking
Country transport parking is available for buyers who reside or conduct business outside 150 kms from the Melbourne CBD. Covered and uncovered country transport parking bays are available for trucks up to 8 metres, trucks and semi-trailer / B double combinations.
Fruit and Vegetable Market Grower Parking
Grower’s vehicles may be parked on the allocated Grower Stand free of charge provided that the vehicle is parked within the boundaries of the stand. Vehicles longer than 8 metres require reserved parking.
NFC Buyers (Florist) Parking
Florists may park in unreserved parking bays free of charge. These bays are denoted with a yellow flower painted on the roadway. Reserved parking privileges are also available. The fee for Florists’ reserved parking is shown in the Schedule of Fees.
NFC Grower Parking
Each NFC standholder has an allocated car park within the Growers’ park (site map). Each coolroom stand holder that has a rear access door has a reserved bay allocated to them at the rear of that coolroom. Vehicles are not permitted within the NFC during trading hours.
Conference Centre Parking
Conference Centre parking is available at Gate 7 car parking lot outside the market main concourse, adjacent to the Conference Centre building. There is a flat fee of $6 per day.

Parking charges (for other than Casual parking) are levied quarterly with payment required in January, April, July and October.
The Melbourne Markets complex is gazetted as public roadway under the Road Traffic Act. As such the normal rules of the road and stopping restrictions apply. Infringement notices can be issued for breaches of the Road Traffic Act.
